The Life of St. Vincent de Paul

Vincent grew up tending his family's animals in southwest France and became a priest at nineteen. Ministering to poor peasants and to the galley convicts, he saw how much people needed both the Gospel and practical help.

He founded the Congregation of the Mission to preach to the poor, and with St. Louise de Marillac he founded the Daughters of Charity. He organized hospitals, homes for orphans and relief for whole regions.

“Love is inventive to infinity.”
