The Life of St. Athanasius of Alexandria

As a young deacon Athanasius went with his bishop to the Council of Nicaea in 325, where the Church proclaimed that the Son is one in being with the Father. He became Bishop of Alexandria and spent his life defending that faith.

He was sent into exile five times and always came home to his flock. His book On the Incarnation and his Life of Antony are treasures of Christian writing, and the Church honors him as a Doctor.
