The Life of St. Padre Pio
Francesco Forgione grew up in the farming village of Pietrelcina in southern Italy and became a Capuchin friar known as Padre Pio. For fifty years he bore the wounds of Christ in his hands, and people came from all over the world to his little friary at San Giovanni Rotondo to go to confession and attend his Mass.
He was famously warm and funny, with a quick joke and a big heart. His best-known advice fits on a sticky note: "Pray, hope, and don't worry." He told friends to send their guardian angels to him with their requests, founded prayer groups that now span the globe, and built a large hospital, the Home for the Relief of Suffering, to care for the sick.
“Pray, hope, and don't worry.”
Saying widely attributed to Padre Pio (Italian: "Prega, spera e non preoccuparti")
