The Life of St. Matthew
Matthew was a tax collector at his booth in Capernaum when Jesus looked at him and said, "Follow me." He got up and left everything, then threw a big dinner so his friends could meet Jesus too.
He wrote the first Gospel, which gives us the Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes. Caravaggio's famous painting The Calling of St. Matthew in Rome captures the moment Jesus points at him across a table of coins.
