The Life of St. Jane Frances de Chantal
Jane married the Baron de Chantal and had a joyful marriage and four children. When her husband died in a hunting accident, she raised her children and turned to God in her grief.
In 1604 she heard St. Francis de Sales preach in Dijon, and he became her spiritual father and friend. Together they founded the Visitation Sisters in 1610, a community welcoming women of every age and health.
