The Life of St. Genesius
Genesius was a comedic actor in ancient Rome, performing a play that mocked Christian baptism for the emperor. In the middle of the scene, as the water was poured, he was suddenly moved by grace and believed.
He stopped playing a part and told the audience he was now truly a Christian. He gave his life for Christ, and actors, comedians and performers have taken him as their patron ever since, praying his prayer before they go on stage.
