The Life of Bl. Frédéric Ozanam

Frédéric was a university student in Paris when a classmate challenged him to show what his faith was doing for the poor. In 1833, at age twenty, he and a few friends began visiting poor families in their homes, and the Conference of Charity was born.

It became the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, which now serves neighbors in need around the world. He went on to teach literature at the Sorbonne and was a loving husband to Amélie and father to their daughter Marie.
